§ Mr. TraceyI understand that sports sponsorship by the tobacco industry is controlled in the majority of member states of the Community, whether by law or by voluntary restrictions as in the United Kingdom. I have recently seen the Tobacco Products (Control of Advertising, Sponsorship and Sales Promotion) Regulations 1986 which come into force in Eire on 1 July 1986; I am seeking further detailed information on the practice in other member states. I shall write to my hon. Friend.
