HC Deb 12 March 1986 vol 93 c479W
Mr. Pawsey

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has about the trend in the standard of train punctuality during the past 12 months.

Mr. David Mitchell

Information for the financial year 1985–86 is not yet available. I understand, however, from British Rail that punctuality so far has been slightly worse than in the preceding year. Taking the network as a whole, the board's own targets have been achieved for non-express trains, but not for express services.

Mr. Pawsey

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received about the 1985 Transport Users' Consultative Committee report for northeast England, with particular reference to the trend in train punctuality in 1985 as compared with 1984.

Mr. David Mitchell

I have not received any such representations.
