§ Mr. WhitneyInformation held centrally records that the building of Southampton general hospital—phase 5 west ward block was completed in December 1981. The building and engineering cost was £6.4 million. It contams 425 beds, a professorial suite, rehabilitation services, staff changing facilities, a chapel, and university teaching accommodation.
