§ 29. Mr. Hargreavesasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he is in a position to report the outcome of the design commitment conference held at Lancaster House on 28 January.
§ Mr. ButcherThe conference brought together the top managers of leading United Kingdom companies with experience of exploiting design in their businesses. Its aim was to generate a multiplier effect by persuading them to hold design seminars for their principal suppliers and so help spread good design practice more widely. I am delighted that, at the latest count, 62 companies have said they would do so or consider doing so.
