asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the proportion of Government revenue raised by (a) direct and (b) indirect taxes for each of the past 20 years.

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what proportion social security contributions have made to total Government revenue for each year since 1955–56; and if he will also divide this data according to the contributions made by (a) employees and (b) employers.
