HC Deb 10 March 1986 vol 93 c342W
Mr. Adley

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment, pursuant to the statement by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, the hon. Member for Mitcham and Morden (Mrs. Rumbold), about additional rate support grant, 5 March, Official Report, column 321, what estimate his Department has made of the amount by which the rate announced by Dorset county council could be reduced directly as a result of the additional funds now being made available to Dorset, assuming the same level of expenditure and the same utilisation of balances.

Mrs. Rumbold

Dorset's share of the recycled grant is £6.409 million for 1986–87. This is equivalent to a rate poundage of 7p. The extent to which the council may be able to reduce its precept is dependent on the grant assumptions already made by the county.
