§ Mr. Chris PattenFor the local education authorities, I refer the hon. Member to the answer that I gave to him on 17 February at column14. Since then two further local education authorities, Birmingham and Stockport, have requested a postponement of the GCSE. Two of the five GCSE examining groups, the London and East Anglia group and the Welsh Joint Education Committee, have made a similar request.
§ Dr. Glynasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what information he has about the proportion of general certificate of secondary education syllabuses which are now available to teachers for preparation of teaching materials for the next academic year.
