§ Mr. Sternasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will state the number of cases in the last five years of which he is aware in which disciplinary proceedings against an officer of the fire service led, wholly or partially, to the deprivation of pension rights.
§ Mr. HurdThe power to withdraw pension is not available in disciplinary proceedings but arises under the Firemen's Pension Scheme Order 1973 on conviction of certain criminal offences. I know of no cases in the past five years in which the power has been exercised.
