§ Mrs. RumboldThe Nature Conservancy Council has paid the following amounts under management agreements with owners and occupiers of sites of special scientific interest:

Such amounts are usually small but one payment in 1981–82 under a nature reserve agreement amounted to £278,734. It is not possible to identify separately payments made to farmers. The Countryside Commission does not make payments direct to farmers under management agreements.
