§ Mr. GummerWe circulated on 13 February for statutory consultation under the Food Acts prpoposals for the fat labelling of foods. Proposals for the strength marking throughout the European Community of all alcoholic drinks in percentage alcohol by volume are under discussions in Brussels. Changes to encourage the production of leaner carcases were introduced into the sheep variable premium scheme on 6 January 1986. Similar changes will be introduced into the beef scheme in the new marketing year.
