§ Mr. Tony Lloydasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list for each health district in the north-west region waiting times for ophthalmology.
§ Mr. WhitneyI am sorry I cannot give the hon. Member the information he seeks. The numbers in the central data sample are too small for reliable estimates to be made below regional level.
The estimated median interval between the date a patient was placed on the waiting list and the date of admission to departments of Ophthalmology in the north-western region in 1983, the latest year for which information is held centrally, was 10 weeks.
The hon. Member may wish to write to the chairman of the North Western regional health authority, who may be able to assist him further.
