§ Mr. Peter Reesasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he proposes to include provision in the forthcoming Channel tunnel Bill for the A20 Folkestone-Dover road scheme.
§ Mr. David MitchellWe intend to make provision in the Bill for the western part of the scheme from the end of the M20, to which the tunnel terminal will be linked, to Court wood on the existing A20. This new road will provide much needed early relief for Folkestone and Capel le Ferne from the traffic between east Kent and the tunnel. The remainder of the scheme from Court wood to Dover will be taken forward as quickly as possible under the normal Highways Act procedures.
