§ Mr. George Robertsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has replied to the letter sent to him from Hamilton-East Kilbride local health council of 30 May regarding the petition presented to his office on 6 May calling for a ban on the production and promotion of Skoal Bandits; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. John MacKayA reply was sent on 27 June. In this area it is preferable to proceed by way of voluntary agreement rather than by introducing legal prohibitions. The situation is, however, being kept under constant review.
