§ Mr. HayhoeDiscussions with the medical profession have covered a number of measures which would encourage general medical practitioners to prescribe more effectively and economically. My Department is pressing ahead with plans to provide practitioners with better and more timely information about their prescribing and is considering what other help might be given. In many areas, however, my Department is looking to the profession itself to take the initiative and I intend to review progress at regular intervals.
