asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have received the report of the Social Security Advisory Committee on the proposed changes in single payments for supplementary benefit applicants; and if so when it was received and what is their response.

The committee's report on the proposals to amend the Supplementary Benefit (Single Payments) Regulations was received on 22nd May. The report, and the Government's response to it, will be laid before Parliament in the normal way when we have concluded our consideration of it.
