§ The Prime MinisterActing on behalf of the Twelve, the Netherlands Presidency made representations to the South African Government on 13 June about the imposition of the State of Emergency. The Presidency protested at the indiscriminate arrests of church, community and trades union leaders. We have subsequently made bilateral representations to the South African Government about detentions under the provisions of the state of emergency.
