§ Sir George YoungThe latest estimated cost of Mount Pleasant airport is £307 million plus £10 million for navigational aids supplied by the MOD. The airport attained full operational status on 1 May 1986 as planned. The Laing-Mowlem-ARC joint venture has performed with tremendous vigour to achieve this target and is to be congratulated.
