asked the Paymaster General what measures have been taken to improve the quality of work-related non-advanced further education.

Mr. Trippier

The resources for work-related non-advanced further education, transferred from the local authority rate support grant (England and Wales) to the Manpower Services Commission (£110 million in 1986–87), will he used to improve the quality of work-related NAFE provision.

All local authorities have produced or are in the process of providing three-year development plans for the academic years 1986–87 to 1988–89 and one year annual programmes for the academic year 1986–87.
