§ The Prime MinisterThe National Health Service Management Board was set up in April 1985 within the Department of Health and Social Security by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services to assist him in carrying out the necessary central management functions in respect of the hospitals and community health services in England. There are no present plans to alter the board's formal responsibilities or its accountability to my right hon. Friend and his to Parliament.
