Mr. Meadowcroft

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he plans to introduce any changes in the procedure for processing applications to settle in Britain from the India sub-continent.

Mr. Waddington

The arrangements are kept under review in order to ensure that applications are processed with a minimum of delay. The Government have no proposals for changes at present.
