§ Mr. Snapeasked the Secretary of State for Transport what percentage of heavy goods vehicles involved in spot checks by his Department's inspectors on the M2 during the week commencing 9 June were (a) towed away as being unroadworthy, (b) subject to instant prohibition and (c) found to have other serious defects.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyNo spot checks were conducted on the M2 at that time. On 12 June, 28 vehicles were checked at Falconwood on the A2: four were immediately prohibited; seven were given a delayed prohibition. I do not know how many were towed away.
