HL Deb 19 June 1986 vol 476 cc1160-1WA
Baroness Faithfull

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When decisions are to be taken concerning the proceeds of the sale of land under Section 49 of the Local Government Act 1985 with particular reference to South Yorkshire and what proportion of the proceeds will be allocated to the South Yorkshire Foundation, which has made application to develop work in the industry sector.

The Minister of State, Department of the Environment (Lord Elton)

The chairmen of all the residuary bodies have recently been asked to provide an early estimate of the likely funds that may be available from the sale of land. Until such time as these figures are available, no decisions can be taken concerning the proceeds and whether an endowment under Section 49 of the Local Government Act 1985 can be made to any charity in South Yorkshire.
