HL Deb 19 June 1986 vol 476 cc1159-60WA
Lord Molloy

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will intervene and suspend the introduction of the proposed scheme relating to Cornwall's ambulance service planned for the end of June because of potential risk in reducing ambulance services; and whether they will then have the proposals examined by management and specialist staff representatives.

Baroness Trumpington

The provision of ambulance services in Cornwall is a matter for the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Health Authority. I understand that the authority has recently reviewed its ambulance rotas and that a number of changes are likely to be implemented over the next two to three years. Management and staff views have been considered. We would not usually intervene in what is essentially a local matter.
