§ Mr. Alan Williamsasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will receive a deputation from University college, Swansea, led by the right hon. Member from Swansea, West, to discuss the particular problems posed for the college and for the city of Swansea by the recently announced cuts in funding for the college.
§ Mr. Wyn RobertsResponsibility for funding the colleges of the University of Wales rests with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science and the University Grants Committee. University college, Swansea will have opportunities for discussing with the UGC any problems which it faces following the announcement of its recurrent grant allocation for 1986–87. I do not believe it would be appropriate for me to hold separate discussions about the allocations of recurrent grant with the colleges of the University of Wales.
