§ Mr. LeeThe detailed information requested is not available. However, among the major aerospace contractors which have factories in Avon are British Aerospace and Rolls-Royce. A prime responsibility of the Bristol division of British Aerospace is ship-launched missile systems including the Seawolf ship self-defence anti-missile system, the Sea Dart long range anti-aircraft missile system and the Sea Skua anti-ship missile. The Bristol division of Rolls-Royce numbers among its products the496W engines for the Tornado and Harrier aircraft. Both divisions were paid over £100 million by my Department in 1984–85.
