§ Mr. Chris PattenThe publicity costs of the certificate of pre-vocational education are met by the Department of Education and Science and the Joint Board for Pre-Vocational Education. In 1985–86 some £140,000 of separately identifiable expenditure was used to produce leaflets for schools, pupils and employers as well as some national advertising. It is anticipted that some £250,000 will be provided by the Department in 1986–87 as grant-in-aid to the joint board for publicity. It is too soon to say how the CPVE has been received by industry, although early responses are encouraging.
