Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he he will give, drawing from the regional plans, for each health authority wholly or partly within Greater London and for each year up to 1994, the number of beds proposed for (a) acute patients, (b) the elderly, (c) the mentally ill and (d) paediatric cases.

Mr. Whitney

The information requested is not available. The Thames regions' strategic plans are not yet all approved and discussions on the numbers of beds required in each specialty are still taking place between the respective regional and district health authorities.

Mr. Dobson
