§ Mr. PattieAs recently announced in the White Paper "Intellectual Property and Innovation"—Cmnd. 9712—the Government have concluded that it is unnecessary and undesirable to change either the basic ownership provision or the existing specific exceptions covering commissioned works of art in the Copyright Act 1956. However, since publication of the White Paper we have had further representations on the subject and we will look at the matter again in the light of these representations.
