HC Deb 16 June 1986 vol 99 c437W
Mr. Kirkwood

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he is yet able to evaluate the effectiveness of the publicity campaign highlighting the dangers of contracting acquired immune deficiency syndrome; whether he will consider extending the campaign to include television advertisements; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hayhoe

It is too early to come to firm conclusions as the campaign is still at a very early stage. The use of television for future stages of the campaign is one of a number of options being considered.

Mr. Kirkwood

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the proposed extent of the distribution of the Health Education Council leaflet on acquired immune deficiency syndrome.

Mr. Hayhoe

The leaflet will continue to be available to members of the general public by post on request or through local health education units, the family planning information service and other organisations.
