§ Mr. WaldenMy right hon. Friend has received a letter from the principal of Edinburgh university expressing concern about the level of university funding. The Government have already announced their willingness to consider additional funding for the universities if there is evidence of progress in implementing the policies of selectivity and rationalisation, financial management and improved standards of teaching.
