HC Deb 12 June 1986 vol 99 c308W
Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment under what circumstances a tine was incurred by his Department in South Audley Street in 1985.

Sir George Young

The line was in respect of a Government car service car collecting a Minister from a lunchtime engagement in the area. I should add that the fine was wrongly attributed to the Department of the Environment in the answer I gave the hon. Gentleman On 4 June at columns570–71. It was incurred by the Department of Health and Social Security.

Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give the total number of parking fines incurred by each Government Department in each year from 1973 to 1984.

Sir George Young

I shall answer this question shortly.

Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will detail the six parking fines incurred by non-ministerial vehicles during 1985.

Sir George Young

Four parking penalties were incurred by vehicles on GCS despatch duties and two were incurred by vehicles carrying officials.
