HC Deb 12 June 1986 vol 99 c298W
Mr. Simon Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether extra resources are to be provided to enable the health and social services authorities to improve services for disturbed adolescents, as recommended in the health notice on the "Bridges Over Troubled Waters" report; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Whitney

The vast majority of the report's recommendations are for action which can be taken at local level to improve the co-ordination and effectiveness of existing services, and to that extent have no specific revenue implications for Health and Social Services authorities. No specific additions are proposed to the extra resources available from central cash allocations and cost improvement programmes.
