The table shows the number of redundancies affecting 10 or more workers notified to the Manpower Services Commission as due to occur in Scotland in the manufacturing and construction industries during the period January 1979 to December 1985. The percentage decline in manufacturing employment between 1979 and 1985 was 28 per cent; and the corresponding decline in construction industry employment was 26 per cent.
