In recent months we have received frequent representations on the infringement of freedom of speech or assembly at institutions of higher education. In every case a report has been obtained from the authorities of the institution. The Government have decided to introduce a clause into the Education Bill currently before Parliament which will be designed to protect free speech at institutions of further and higher education.
