HC Deb 09 June 1986 vol 99 cc17-8W
Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has of the total number of staff employed by the London waste regulation authority and the seven waste disposal authorities in Greater London and the total number of staff previously employed by the Greater London council on waste disposal.

Mrs. Rumbold

I understand that the London Waste Regulation Authority at present directly employs some 79 staff. Similar information for the four statutory waste authorities and 12 London boroughs responsible for waste disposal is not available centrally. I understand that the GLC employed around 900 staff on waste regulation and disposal. Further information will be sought in due course through the joint manpower watch.
