(5) what was the level of long-term unemployment in Greenock and Port Glasgow at the latest date for which figures are available; and what were the comparable figures in 1979 and subsequent years.

§ Mr. Allan StewartIn 1985 redundancies per thousand employees in Scotland, Strathclyde and the Greenock and Port Glasgow area were respectively 13.5, 14.5 and 47.2. The employment base used for Scotland relates to 1985, and for Strathclyde and Greenock and Port Glasgow to 1981.
