HC Deb 09 June 1986 vol 99 c79W
Mr. Jackson

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what has been the change in the level of United Kingdom self-sufficiency for all food consumed from 1973 to 1985; and what is the comparable figure for all temperate food products in the same period.

Mrs. Fenner

The estimated level of United Kingdom self-sufficiency for all food consumed increased from 50 per cent. in 1973 to 62 per cent. in 1985. The comparable figures for all temperate food products are 60 per cent. and 80 per cent. The 1985 figures are provisional.
