HC Deb 09 June 1986 vol 99 c50W
Mr. Robert Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many British consultants are employed by his Department to assist in work in the developing countries.

Mr. Raison

The information requested is not readily available. In 1985 the ODA engaged British consultancy firms to undertake 155 new contracts in order to provide services financed from technical co-operation funds and the aid and trade provision. This excludes certain small contracts (less than £30,000) and contracts provided under capital aid.
