§ Mr. Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list all local authorities which have replied to the request in Scottish Development Department circular 26/1983 to notify the Department of action taken to identify asbestos used in housing stock; and what remedial action has been taken by local authorities.
§ Mr. AncramCumnock and Doon, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth, and Nithsdale district councils have so far informed the Department that they have taken action to identify asbestos products in their housing stock. Authorities were not asked to report to the Department the nature of any remdial action they conclude, in consequence, is required to deal with asbestos.
