§ Mr. Hendersonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what arrangements he proposes for the operation in Scotland of the grants provided for by section 108 of the Transport Act 1985; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. RifkindI have provided £170,000 for these grants in 1986/87. The grant scheme will be used to assist in the establishment, continuance or improvement of any public passenger transport project for the benefit of persons residing in rural areas of Scotland. The particular conditions of the scheme, which has been established after consultation with local authorities and interested606W organisations, are set out in the explanatory note which accompanies application forms.
