§ Mr. LangThe restart programme for the long-term unemployed which will be fully operational by July this year will include a number of elements which feature in workfare programmes in the United States of America, in particular job clubs to help and encourage the unemployed to find work. The Government are continuing to study the American experience of workfare programmes to see if there are further elements which should be applied here.
