§ Mr. Robert Banksasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the 1985 production of linseed in the European Economic Community expressed as a percentage of its total consumption; and what estimate he has of (a) the tonnage of imports of linseed to the European Economic Community in the current year and (b) the production of linseed from within the Community.
§ Mr. GummerProduction of linseed within the Community of Ten in 1985 amounted to 77,000 tonnes, which represents about 16 per cent. of utilisation of linseed in that year. In the first two months of 1986, the latest period for which figures are available, the Community of Ten imported 58,341 tonnes of linseed and 1,656 tonnes of linseed oil. Forecasts of 1986 Community production are not yet available.
