§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the reasons why he has given a 90 per cent. grant to the Homefield school, Christchurch, for a rifle range.
§ Mr. Freeman[pursuant to his answer 22 May 1986, c. 264]: The provision of a minature rifle range for an open Army Cadet Force detachment at Homefield school near Christchurch, Dorset is the responsibility of eastern Wessex territorial auxiliary and volunteer reserve association who have obtained a site rent-free from the school for that purpose, and for the use of an air training corps squadron which is planned to be located there. My Department has made no grant to the school for the range, but has made a grant to the association of some 90 per cent. of the anticipated costs of the necessary works, with the school contributing just over 10 per cent. The range remains under TAVRA control.
