HL Deb 29 July 1986 vol 479 c824WA
Baroness Masham of Ilton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether there are any ways in which they could draw to wider public attention the anxieties of doctors working with patients with AIDS or involved with AIDS virus, and their wish for concerted continuing health education so that the risk of infection to heterosexuals and babies through transmission from infected bisexuals and drug addicts be reduced.

Baroness Trumpington

A series of guidance documents on AIDS has been issued to doctors and other health professionals. The purpose of the ongoing AIDS United Kingdom information campaign, which includes support for voluntary bodies such as the Terrence Higgins Trust, is to provide information to the general public and those in high risk groups about AIDS and the ways in which transmission of the infection can be prevented. We are reviewing the options available to ensure that this information reaches those who may be at risk of transmitting or catching the infection.
