HC Deb 25 July 1986 vol 102 cc518-9W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Transport how many properties have been served with (a) compulsory purchase orders or (b) blight notices as a consequence of improvements to the north circular road proposed by his Department; what estimate he has of their net market value; and how many are already owned by his Department.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

Six hundred and ninety two properties are currently included in draft compulsory orders relating to proposed improvements or extensions to the north circular road and a further 197 are the subject of made orders. The Department owns 857 properties required for these improvements, nearly all of which were acquired on acceptance of blight notices.

Valuation figures are not readily available in the form requested. Land acquisition costs for all north circular road proposed improvements are currently estimated at £44–79 million.
