HC Deb 25 July 1986 vol 102 c616W
Mr. D. E. Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will outline the nature and extent of the review of his Department's peacetime emergency plans following the Chernobyl disaster; whether, when completed, he intends to publish it; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Morrison

The Department is playing its part in the Government's examination of the impact of the Chernobyl incident for civil emergency planning. In the light of this review any changes to contingency plans will of course be notified to all those who would be involved in implementing them should the need arise in the future.
