§ Mr. Galleyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received about an independent study to evaluate linen losses in the National Health Service and to assess the full costs of laundry, linen distribution and linen maintenance services; and whether he would support such a study.
§ Mr. WhitneySteps have already been taken to ensure that linen losses are properly recorded by health authorities. The Association of British Laundry, Cleaning and Rental Services has requested the Department to commission a study to obtain the full cost of total linen services to a health authority. This request is being considered.
