§ Mrs. Currieasked the Secretary of State for Social Services on what basis restrictions have been placed by pathology consultants at King's college hospital, London, on tests for blood and urine; whether urgent cases are in any way affected; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HayhoeTheDaily Mirror report on this subject on 16 July was misleading. Consultants at King's College Hospital have themselves decided to introduce a system to control the number of routine and non-urgent cases that they are responsible for undertaking: urgent cases are not affected. It is this example of good management which the Daily Mirror chose to condemn.
