§ Mr. WaddingtonThe period of seven years was in accordance with recommendation 32 of the report of the Home Affairs Committee on refugees and asylum. The considerations which the Government took into account in accepting the recommendation are set out in paragraphs 102–105 of their reply (Cmnd. 9626) to the Committee's report.
