§ Mr. Prescottasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans exist for new community programme opportunities to be provided by his Department.
§ Mr. Allan StewartThe further expansion of the community programme announced in the March 1986 Budget has given Scotland an additional 2,250 places. The new target is 31,400 filled places to be achieved by the end of November 1986.
The additional places in Scotland all represent opportunities for individuals and sponsors. For example a community programme national initiative on crime prevention was launched in Scotland on 21 July 1986, which will involve several hundred new opportunities in 1986–87 alone.
